San Francisco and the Sea Lions

1168

I finally made it up to the Bay Area this past summer. Even though it was just for the weekend, I managed to see all three Bay Area cities. Approaching San Francisco over the Bay Bridge, the entire city was covered in a dense fog. Apparently I chose the coldest period of the summer to visit the city. The first night I walked around the Mission District, where I happened to be staying. I finally ended up at Elbow Room as it was Cuban salsa night. Over the course of the entire weekend I drove to different points in the city, as well as, Oakland and Berkeley. Some of the places I visited were Muir Wood, Sausalito, Pier 39, Farmer’s market @ Pier 1, Jack London Square, UC Berkeley, Indian Rock, and the Castro. On Saturday night I went to Cafe Cocomo for more salsa. Hopefully, I will be back in the city for the 2006 SF Salsa Congress.

Here is a video I took at Pier 39. It is of a couple of male sea lions fighting for position.
